Uttar Pradesh is committed to extend full cooperation to the central government in its attempt to make India drugs-free.In accordance with the home minister’s guidelines, the state-level committee of National Narcotics Coordination (NCORD) had been constituted in UP whereas district-level committees were formed in all 75 districts.
Uttar Pradesh Anti-Narcotics Department is a specialized law enforcement agency in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh responsible for combating the illicit drug trade and addressing drug-related crimes within the state.
On August 4, 2022, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) was formed. There were three operations units in ANTF and these were divided into three zones: the Western Zone, Central Zone, and Eastern Zone. Meerut, Bareilly and Agra zone were included in the western zone, Lucknow and Kanpur in the central zone and Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Varanasi in the eastern zone.
